There are over 9,000 Farmers Markets and 8,600 Farm Stands in America Today. The USDA created a website showing where farmer’s markets are today.

Farm Stands (also called produce stands and fruit stands) are ideal for placement of new products (such as beverages and juices, jams and jellies, snacks, frozen foods and desserts, coffee and tea, bulk foods, confections and more).

Learn More
A farmers market is a public and recurring assembly of farmers or their representatives selling the food that they produced directly to consumers.  Farmers markets facilitate personal connections and bonds of mutual benefits between farmers, shoppers, and communities. By cutting out middlemen, farmers receive more our food dollars and shoppers receive the freshest and most flavorful food in their area and local economies prosper. Each farmers market defines the term “local” according to the agriculture of its region and regularly communicates that definition to the public.

The Co-Packing Network is creating an incubation program specifically for local and regional brands that are sold at Farmer’s Markets nationwide.  This new incubation model will be working with farmer’s market trade associations, produce associations and USDA in general to spread the word on the program.

This new incubation program is an extension of our new extension of CPACommercial Kitchens Association (www.CommercialKitchens.org).  We will be introducing our membership of commercial kitchens to local farmer’s markets (ideal for their vendors).

Product Showcase: Harvest Today

A new innovation that is ideal for farm stands and farmer’s markets to look into is Harvest Today.   The Harvest Wall opens up new revenue ideas where the farm stand or farmer’s market can grow their own produce and sell on-site.

The Harvest Wall is produced to empower people to grow leafy greens and vegetables in a controlled environment. It allows plants to grow organically with 97% less water and no usage of chemicals and pesticides. Easy farming for farmers and non-farmers is possible with the Harvest Wall.

The Agrihood Network (www.Agrihoods.net) is becoming a new trade group helping Agrihood developers with subjects such as vendors / suppliers, insurance companies, promotions, lobbying, retail store and food service concepts, marketing agencies, lumber and hardware companies and more.
